We believe in the human spirit and that helping those less fortunate is the only way to make a better place for all.  When motivated, one person can make quite a difference.

Sustainable Volunteer Ecuador values the work of a volunteer and the positive change it can bring to a community or organization and the volunteer.  We believe that short term cultural exchange programs that bring together foreign volunteers and local Ecuadorian communities are an invaluable learning tool and can be beneficial for everyone involved.  We thoroughly prepare each volunteer for integration into their community.  

Our commitment to working with local, grassroots, Ecuadorian organizations shows that we feel that initiatives, change, and eventually development start at the local (or micro) level.  We also feel that under-developed countries and communities have the capacities and potential needed to develop and  their development depends on relationships and partnerships, not hand-outs.
